What’s new at Michigan Massage and Wellness

Happy September everyone! I don’t know about you but I can’t believe that summer is quickly coming to an end here in Michigan (although with it still being 90 degrees, I don’t think anyone wants the table warmer on when they come to Michigan Massage and Wellness for their massage!)

We’ve had a pretty busy summer here, from offering new services to hiring a new therapist!

First off, Natalie is now offering Thai Yoga Massage in addition to her stellar restorative massage sessions. Thai Yoga Massage is often referred to as “lazy mans yoga” (although not lazy for the therapist!).  It is a blend of stretching, compression and targeted work that is traditionally done on a padded mat on the floor while the client remains fully clothed. It is restorative, therapeutic and altogether deeply healing and perfect for someone who may be uncomfortable disrobing for a more traditional massage.

Secondly, we have a new therapist on staff!

Brenda is another graduate of Irene’s Myomassology Institute and started with us in July.  And she is already starting out with a bang and will be headed to Colorado on September 15 for her Level 1 Lokte Method/Renew Movement training and has plans to get certified as a Fascial Stretch Therapist through Stretch To Win Institute in 2019. That’s right, we will soon have two therapists on staff to relieve those aches and pains from that nagging plantar fasciitis, migraines, sciatica and more (and you won’t need to wait 2 months to see Rebecca!).

We also have some new classes coming up on the schedule in October.  Free Your Fascia is going to be a blend of LifeStretch and our popular Roll & Relax class. The goal of Free Your Fascia is to spend a blissful 60 minutes doing deeply restorative stretching while using the Roll Model® therapy balls to learn how to treat (and sometimes eliminate) those common problem areas that have you calling us desperate for a massage.

As we head in to the end of 2018 (it will be 2019 before you know it!), I am excited about everything coming up this fall and I hope that you’ll join us at our open house at the end of October as we showcase our services and classes! More details coming soon on that.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your summer as much as we have!

In good hands,

Rebecca Tamm, LMT
