How to Choose a Massage Therapist

Choosing a massage therapist isn't a popularity contest. Don't base it on social media likes or cheap deals. At Michigan Massage and Wellness, it's all about quality, not quantity. We prioritize your well-being, taking time to understand your needs and provide the best care.

How Do You Choose a Massage Therapist?

Do you go for how popular they are on social media? Because unfortunately, we live in a time where everything seems to be a popularity contest. And those with the most likes and follows get the most attention. But just because someone has tens of thousands of followers and some flashy graphics doesn’t always mean they know what they are talking about when it comes to pain and injuries.

Word of mouth referrals are how you prefer to do business? Us too! We like knowing people or someone who has recommended them (like the team over at Nova Chiropractic in Berkley, a client recommended Dr. Nick, who has been great to work with).

Please don’t tell me that you look for whoever is cheapest and can get you in the soonest?

I’ll preface this by saying that if you fall into the #3 category, keep scrolling or swipe left as they say in the dating world. Because we are not the massage therapists for you.

Since 2004 our focus at Michigan Massage and Wellness has always been quality over quantity. We don’t have 10,000 Instagram followers, nor can you call us at 2:15 pm for a 3 pm appointment.

We Don’t Care About Popularity….

Michigan Massage and Wellness

We have clients book their appointments for the entire year in January. We have clients that are like family to us. We care just as much about you when you are off of our tables as when you are on them.

You wouldn’t seek a super cheap hairstylist if you wanted to try some drastic new cut and color, would you? Of course not. Like you wouldn’t go to the shady nail salon for a manicure where there is a 62% chance you’ll wind up with a staph infection because of improperly cleaned tools. So why are you still looking for the cheapest option available when it comes to massage and bodywork?? Just because you can’t visually see the difference with massage like you can with a new hairstyle or updated nails doesn’t mean you should scrimp on it.

We take the time to get to know our clients in our practice. We do the intake with you at your first session. At follow-up sessions, we double-check to see how you felt after your last session and if any new problems or issues have come up. We want to know how long you felt good after your last session with us. You aren’t just another name on the schedule or money in our pocket. You matter. And it is our mission to help you as much as we can during our time together.

We only get one body; don’t you want to treat it the best way that you can?

In Good Hands,
