Therapeutic Massage
Really, when you think about it, there are dozens and dozens, if not hundreds and hundreds types of massage. Therapeutic massage, deep tissue, Swedish, hot stone, reflexology, shiatsu, ashiatsu, sports, orthopedic, lomi lomi….the list goes on and on.
Here at Michigan Massage and Wellness our ‘standard’ massage can best be described as a therapeutic massage. Why? Well, because it’s much more than some ‘fluff and buff’ massage you might get at one of those chain places that are popping up everywhere. However, our therapeutic massage is far from standard!
We are all about developing relationships with our clients, getting to know them on a personal basis, listen to their stories, about their jobs, their activities and hobbies, their lives, because that helps us better identify what issues and problems they may be suffering from that warrants a visit to our office. For example, someone who spends their days sitting at a desk are bound to have a tight neck, back and forward rounded shoulders which tells us we need to spend some time opening up the pecs and maybe incorporate a little bit of stretching into the session.
Someone who is incredibly active may need deeper work to help ‘unstick’ the muscle fibers that get wound up and bound up, and I’m sorry, but a Swedish massage just isn’t going to cut it with that.
With our team of therapists, you are getting a session that is customized for you and your needs. We don’t charge extra for deep tissue or add ons like others might, and a therapeutic massage is just that: therapeutic. We don’t spend an hour beating you up, but instead make it the perfect blend of deep tissue, therapeutic and relaxing all at once.
