Whether you had a c-section 6 weeks ago or 60 years ago, MPS Therapy may still help to relieve some of the tightness and tension that is the result of scar tissue as well as the emotional trauma that may accompany it. Patients have experienced lasting relief from back pain, bloating, pulling/tugging, numbness and more by receiving this work and often times, substantial, lasting relief comes in as little as 1-5 sessions.
No matter what area was injured, when the body begins to lay down new tissue, healing the gap and creating the scar, this new tissue lays differently than the original. For example, in a muscle, the fibers run in a single direction and in a clear pattern. This allows the most movement and flexibility. But as new tissue is formed during healing, it lays in multiple directions and forms a crisscross pattern. This may be the body’s way of attempting to make the area strong and add more stability, but unfortunately, it doesn’t quite do that, and this actually creates more issues, such as the ones mentioned above.
Thankfully, Michigan Massage and Wellness has extensive experience treating scar tissue and we have gotten fantastic results with our patients after they go under the knife during labor. Scars are far more than skin deep!
